TCMB Vice Governor Akçay: As Inflation Slows, Currency Interventions Will Decrease

Forex - The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey’s Deputy Governor Cevdet Akçay stated in a meeting with investors in London that interventions in the foreign exchange market will decrease with the slowing pace of inflation. Akçay noted that the need for intervention will diminish as financial stability strengthens, but the real depreciation of the Turkish Lira could negatively impact inflation expectations.
